Anya and Scott at Glen Tanar
"Photos look fanatastic! Really love the black and white ones!! Have sent out to family and friends... we are so please you stayed, the dancing photos are fab!..."
- Anya & Scott
It's a treat for us when we have the opportunity to head up into the Highlands to do some wedding photography, and Anya and Scott's wedding at Glen Tanar, near Aboyne to the east of the Cairngorms was an opportunity to do just that.
Glen Tanar estate has a number of attractions - the first is the amazing, tiny church, with its benches covered in deerskin. For the photographer, the candlelit interior and tiny windows are definitely a challenge, but a challenge well worth taking up. The aisle is so narrow that Anya and her father had to head up it in single file. But the result is a wonderfully intimate feel to the ceremony.
Up at the Glen Tanar hall, the deer theme continues with a most extraordinary ceiling lined with literally hundreds of deer antlers - of course, you can see it all in the photos! We took the opportunity to sneak out with Anya and Scott for a little portrait session down at the lake - then on to the evening festivities. As you can see, the dancing was especially enthusiastic, with the special appearance late in the evening of an extraordinary funk band with microphone hairdos (or to be strictly accurate, wigs!)
