Katharina and Alan's wedding at Seton Collegiate Church and Gosford House
Katharina and Alan's wedding took place at two of the most historic locations around East Lothian. Seton Collegiate Church is a gorgeous 15th century church looked after by Historic Scotland. And the reception took place in a unique place, a family house with more than 300 years of history (but only recently opened to the public as it is the seat of the Earl's of Wemyss and March) and thousands of acres of private grounds: Gosford House. Despite the beautifully grand venue (the giant marble staircase features often in cinema sets) with its amazing art collection, Katharina and Alan's approach to the day was very relaxed and informal. There was a buffet with guest mingling casually, drinks were served from a marble tub filled with ice and… the groom performed his favourite songs superbly with the wedding band!.
During the preparations, Katharina’s silk dress was buttoned up with authentic Victorian button hooks and instead of traditional high heel shoes her choice was to go for an ultra comfortable handmade version made for ballroom dancing and tango. The couple performed their first dance spectacularly with a specially commissioned choreography to Frank Sinatra's 'I've got you under my skin'.
