Colourful Indian and Scottish wedding at Dundas Castle near Edinburgh

Pamela and Ravi’s celebrations might just be the most colourful wedding we’ve captured while being wedding photographers in Scotland. We loved how these two families and cultures came together - it was very moving to witness with my camera Ravi’s sisters and cousins dressing Pamela for her second ceremony (the couple had two wedding ceremonies on the same day! - the second one in the castle’s courtyard).

This was our first time witnessing an Indian ceremony with an energetic parade of dhol drummers and what an arresting sight (and sound!) that was! The day was drenched in colour - apart from the abundance of embellishments on all the saris, our favourite must have been Ravi’s carefully chosen subtle colour of his handmade suit.

For us the day was all about capturing moments like the couple grabbing ice cream from Luca’s famous ice cream van which was parked at the front of the Castle during the drinks reception, but we also squeezed in a bit of a portrait shoot at the top of the keep, and popped out again as the sun fell for that precious evening light.
